Dehing Patkai National Park is one of India's most spectacular tropical rainforest destinations, located in the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam. Popularly known as the "Amazon of the East," this magnificent national park is famous for its lush evergreen forests, rich biodiversity, rare wildlife, and breathtaking natural beauty. Declared a National Park in 2021, Dehing Patkai covers approximately 231 square kilometers and forms an important part of the Dehing Patkai Elephant Reserve.

The park is home to dense rainforests, rolling hills, rivers, tea gardens, and an incredible variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies, and plant species. It is one of the last remaining lowland tropical rainforests in India and offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience untouched wilderness.

The forests of Dehing Patkai have long been recognized for their exceptional ecological importance. In 2004, the area was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary to protect its unique rainforest ecosystem and endangered wildlife. On 9 June 2021, the Government of Assam officially upgraded it to National Park status to strengthen conservation efforts and preserve its remarkable biodiversity.
